For most temporary work visas, your employer in the United States files a petition with US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Only after it is approved can you apply for the visa at the embassy or consulate.

  • A passport valid for at least six months beyond your stay
  • The DS-160 confirmation page and the application fee receipt
  • Your employment letter and contract
  • Your diplomas, CV and proof of experience

From Türkiye, step by step

  1. Your employer files the petition

    With USCIS in the United States; you receive the I-797 approval.

  2. Complete the DS-160

    With the receipt number from your approved petition.

  3. Pay the fee

    Through the official payment channel for Türkiye.

  4. Book the interview

    At the US Embassy in Ankara or the Consulate General in Istanbul.

  5. Attend the interview

    Bring the I-797, your employment papers and your qualifications.
